Last week a brother in Christ from my church and I went to 2 different areas in Memphis. We walked around and talked to people about Jesus. We had some interesting conversations, but none of them took us by surprise. What amazes me is that everyone's response to the word of God and the call for holiness by the Lord is the same. Here were some of the responses from people:
What are you living for? When you die how will you be remembered? Do you have someone personally discipling you? Why do you get up everyday? Why did you become a Christian?
HARDFACTSTODAY
Statistically 80% of our young people are not following Jesus now and will abandon all associations of Jesus after high school. The 20% of youth that
remain, are they born again and God-fearing? Only 6-12% of "Christians" pay tithes and offering.
CHRISTIANSAREWORLDLY
Christians are just as worldly as they were before Christ. The world remains the standard and status quo in life for the great majority of Christians for everything. Christians prefer worldly music over songs, hymns and spiritual songs about Jesus. Christians will give their undivided attention to movies, video games, tv shows, sports and other forms of vanity, but not Jesus. Christians know more about pop culture and sports than the Bible. Christians sin because they want to, regardless of what the word says. The majority of Christians do not take Jesus seriously because they are not dead yet. Most Christians do not live a life worthy to be followed. So then is the Bible false or are these Christians lying? Christians still love the world.
